About the event

"Blossoming Borders" is an extraordinary celebration of the rich cultural tapestry of the Tijuana/San Diego border. This immersive event brings together painters, writers, and florists from both sides of the border to create original art that reflects the community's perceptions, experiences, and fascination with border life. Sponsored by the NTC Foundation, and hosted by Ana Galena, a floral designer, with the support of ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station, this event is part of the recognition of San Diego-Tijuana as the World Design Capital® of 2024.

What to Expect

  • Art Exhibitions: Experience      captivating art installations featuring original paintings inspired by      community stories. These artworks reflect the unique experiences and      emotions tied to life on the Tijuana/San Diego border.
  • Floral Art: Discover      stunning floral arrangements and installations that complement the visual      and narrative art, created by talented florists from both San Diego and      Tijuana.
  • Written      Narratives: Engage with powerful narratives crafted by      writers that interpret and express the community’s stories, providing a      deeper layer of understanding and connection.
  • Interactive      Workshops: Participate in hands-on workshops hosted by      the San Diego Craft Collective. These free workshops, open to both adults      and children, will allow you to create your own art inspired by the      event's theme. Workshops will take place outside at the open tables from      12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
